The story of Adam is a powerful example of the healing and hope Christ provides for those seeking help at Good Samaritan Rescue Mission in Bay City. Adam’s life was a mess, but God had better plans for this young husband and father. His journey to recovery is remarkable, so please watch and enjoy this video summary of the story of Adam and know that your faithful support helped make it possible.
Below, you’ll find a letter of gratitude from Adam. Thank you for helping change a life!
I would like to take some time to extend my deepest and most sincere gratitude to those
who support the facilities and programs of the Rescue Ministries of Mid-Michigan. Without
faithful and generous supporters such as yourselves, I truly believe that the ending to my story
would have been quite different. I would have died.
I owe my life and where I am today to people just like you who selflessly give of their means and time to struggling people you may never meet. If the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission was not available on that fateful day when I
reached it’s doors, the beauty of what God had intended to do may have not come to fruition.
I want to convey that there are those who come to the mission whose story is far different
from mine. I had made poor choice after poor choice that lead me to being in such a state. But,
there are those who are good hearted people and have fallen on hard times or forsaken and
mistreated by the people in their lives. These are the people who truly deserve a helping hand, a
place to go, a place of hope made possible by you through your generous donations and
I am very humbled when I understand the scope of your selflessness and
generosity. It’s easy to give to those we love, but it is a far more admiral and noble thing to give
to the stranger.
I want all the supporters of the Rescue Ministries of Mid-Michigan to understand the
gravity of what their giving does. You rescue people and even whole families from death, heart
ache and unbelievable hardship. You all are true humanitarians and causes to the well-being of
your fellow man.
You have been paramount in restoring my mind, body, and soul. The Good
Samaritan Rescue Mission was the critical beginning for God’s healing restoration for me and
my family. I strive to give back to the place and people who saved my life. God bless each-and-
every single one who does the slightest thing to give and minister to “the least of these”.
I owe my life to the generosity of others.
My family thanks you, I thank you, and your community thanks you. I pray that you be blessed in all that you do because of your humility, generosity, and pure-hearted selflessness. Thank you all, from the very depths of my redeemed heart.
